AIRCRAFT MANAGEMENT SERVICES
AeroLys Aircraft Management services involve upholding and updating, on a daily basis, the continuous airworthiness condition of the owners or operator’s aircraft fleet in accordance with EASA Part-CAMO regulations and within the scope of AeroLys´ CAMO approval.
Part of this service is developing and maintaining the aircraft maintenance programs together with all associated task cards, scheduling of all planned activities, and offering a complete engineering support package which is tailor made to meet the customer’s needs. Our team of professional, highly qualified engineers have extensive experience in reviewing, preparing, planning, scheduling and executing all aircraft mandatory tasks and modifications, while ensuring full compliance with manufacturer’s recommendations and the requirements of relevant agencies, local authorities and operator’s instructions.
Our information system also allows us to monitor the effectiveness of the maintenance and reliability programs which are the most essential tools used by us to accurately determine the efficiency of each operation. In doing so, we continually strive to reduce maintenance downtime and operating costs while maintaining the aircraft to the highest industry and aviation authority standards. Our experts also provide assistance to operators in planning and executing corrective actions as a result of non-conformities arising from internal or external quality audits.
AeroLys also has extensive experience and can provide assistance in the technical processes related to aircrafts entering or leaving the operator’s fleet.
Everything you need to know about CAMO
Essentially EASA CAMO is an approval given by a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to an organization that demonstrates they meet certain criteria.
The role of a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization ultimately requires handling liaisons with authorities on behalf of an aircraft owner; finding solutions to maintenance problems with OEMs; delving into the aircraft manuals; assessing Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins; tendering management for maintenance input; and performing on-site aircraft surveys as well as record audits.
In certain scenarios the CAMO may be on-site during heavy maintenance as the aircraft representative overseeing the technical aspects.
It’s common for aircraft owners to refer to a technical representative – the back office engineering department handling all of the planning and paperwork for engineering – as CAMO.
To obtain that CAMO approval AeroLys must establish that it possesses the required EASA-approved caliber of employees with the relevant level of training and experience; plan a training program for the staff; have adequate office facilities; and have a secure IT infrastructure with all necessary protocols in place.
AIRCRAFT PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTIONS
The relationship between an aircraft buyer, seller and inspection facility during the pre-buy inspection process can present challenges.
Even though you are not paying for the repairs, as the future owner of the aircraft, you need to ensure that the repairs are being done correctly, in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the purchase agreement. For that reason, it is generally best to have an AeroLys technical representative on-site at the inspection location throughout the pre-buy inspection process
Additionally, even though you may have assembled an experienced closing team of lawyers, bankers, insurance brokers and aircraft brokers, an aircraft buyer needs the specialized expertise that a technical representative brings to the acquisition team. It is the technical advisor who can protect the buyer’s interests in this situation, ensuring that repairs are completed correctly and that the seller pays for all repairs required under the contract
Further, repairs are not the only matter of concern. The buyer’s on-site technical representative should also confirm the aircraft is equipped as represented in the specifications provided by seller and that it is not missing an important, costly feature that may have been represented as being installed on the aircraft by seller. Since most purchase agreements require the buyer to confirm the details on the aircraft specification sheet, the buyer must make sure this is done.
When selecting a technical representative, it is important to retain someone who has expert knowledge about the particular aircraft being purchased. Some technical representatives have previously been employed by a specific manufacturer and know those certain aircraft models and their likely issues. However, the representative might not have comparable knowledge regarding a different manufacturer or aircraft type.
It is also critical that the technical representative is able to be present with the aircraft during the initial inspection, to oversee the repairs, and to participate in the test flight. Having your technical representative onsite throughout the entire inspection process more than pays for itself in the long run.
Finally, while the inspection facility should be neutral, the technical representative should be an advocate for the buyer. Having a technical representative that is employed by the inspection facility is not a wise option since such an individual cannot truly advocate for either party. Further, retaining an inspection facility that has worked on and/or has maintained the aircraft presents a potential conflict of interest.

NEW AIRCRAFT DELIVERY
When acquiring a new VIP aircraft / Business Jet, once the production process begins, it is never too early to have your representative onsite. Because there are literally hundreds of thousands of parts that have to be assembled to build an aircraft, some errors are inevitable. A buyer’s representative can discover these squawks and ensure correction while the aircraft is still being built.
If you chose to simply have someone go to the delivery location and look at the aircraft, you may also prevent mistakes. It is never too early to have your technical representative on hand when a new aircraft is in production, and you will find that it is well worth the money spent for that expert’s service.
